This article will guide HR Admins through the process of creating and managing different leave types in HybridHero, helping organizations offer flexible and structured time-off options for their employees.
Creating a New Leave Type
To create a new leave type in HybridHero:
- Navigate to People Settings under company settings.
- Select the first icon, Leave Types, from the top menu bar.
- Click the ‘+’ icon to add a new time-off type.
- A side panel titled “Add Time Off Type” will appear.
- Fill in the required details:
- Name
- Leave Type (e.g., Paid Leave, Sick Leave, etc.)
- Country
- Annual Allowance
- Time Off Year Start
- Roll Forward (carryover settings)
- PTO (Paid Time Off) toggle
- Approval required toggle
- Description (optional)
- Click Save to create the leave type.
Once saved, the new leave type is ready to be assigned to leave profiles, enabling its use for employee time-off requests.
Assigning Leave Types to Leave Profiles
After creating a leave type, you must assign it to a Leave Profile for it to be usable by employees.
To Assign to an Existing Leave Profile:
- Select the second icon, Leave Profiles, from the top menu bar.
- Click the Pencil icon next to the profile you wish to update.
- Under Leave Types, select the new leave type you created.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
To Create a New Leave Profile:
- Click the ‘+’ icon in the Leave Profiles section.
- Tick the Active box.
- Enter details such as:
- Name
- Description (optional)

Select one or more leave types under Leave Types
- Click Save.
A new, active leave profile complete with its designated leave types is now ready for assignment to employees.
